Voetbal International and Libelle launch five-part Podcast Series

In the run-up to the UEFA Women’s Euro, Voetbal International and Libelle are launching a five-part podcast series: the VIBELLE Podcast – Lions and Lionesses. Starting Wednesday, June 25, a new episode will be released weekly on Libelle.nl, on VI’s podcast YouTube channel, and all major podcast platforms. The tournament kicks off on July 2.

In five episodes, Nienke Zondervan (Lifestyle Coordinator at Libelle) and Freek Jansen (Editor-in-Chief at Voetbal International) dive into the world of football together. The podcast brings two very different worlds into one conversation. Topics include the impact of football on relationships and family life, kids playing football, parents on the sidelines, and the customs and culture of professional football.

Naturally, the podcast also shines a spotlight on the Dutch women’s national team and their performance at the upcoming UEFA Women’s Euro in Switzerland. In each episode, the duo calls a prominent guest. In the first episode of the VIBELLE Podcast, Zondervan and Jansen speak with national team coach Andries Jonker to preview the tournament.

Hilmar Mulder, Editor-in-Chief of Libelle, looks forward to the unique project:
“Men’s football has been endlessly discussed, analyzed, and commented on for years. Now it’s time for women’s football to receive the same passionate, in-depth attention. This podcast is our starting shot! In this series, we bring together classic male and female perspectives—not only covering the Lionesses, but also goals, red cards, and penalties in the playing field of relationships between men and women.”

Freek Jansen, who leads Voetbal International together with Pieter Zwart, agrees:
“This idea came about spontaneously when the editorial teams of both brands sat down together. These are truly two completely different worlds in almost every way—but that difference in perspective on football and everything surrounding it will create an exciting and refreshing dynamic. We’re covering the Euro closely at VI with a dedicated reporter on the ground. This VIBELLE Podcast is an original and surprising addition that will resonate with many listeners.”
