Voetbal International upgrades infrastructure: full technical control now in-house

A long-standing ambition has become reality for Voetbal International: as of August 2025, the entire technical infrastructure behind VI.nl and the VI app is fully managed in-house. With this move, VI and publisher PXR are investing in a future-proof foundation for continued digital growth.

VI vernieuwt website en app

While the technical overhaul might not be immediately visible on the surface, it is a crucial step for the long term. The new infrastructure has been developed entirely by PXR and enables VI to innovate faster and offer an even better user experience.

Users can already benefit from several visible improvements. From now on, a single account provides seamless access across the website, app, and webshop. VI’s video content is now easier to find, thanks to a revamped video section with clear categories and a more prominent display on the homepage. And overall performance has been significantly enhanced: the site is now faster and smoother to use. Full details of the improvements can be found here, in Dutch.

The launch of the updated site is not the end point, but the beginning of a new chapter in VI’s digital development. In the coming months, Autoblog, Scientias, and BabyBytes will also be migrated to PXR nēxt. VoetbalPrimeur, Bright, Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Bicycling, and VoetbalNieuws.nl are already running on this infrastructure.
